Elska : Haifa (Israel)

Collectif

17,00 €

Une revue de photos et d'interviews (en anglais), qui à chaque numéro fait un focus sur une ville, et part à la rencontre des mecs gay pour des portraits intimes.

Quantité

This issue was made in beautiful Haifa, Israel's most diverse big city. Inside this bookazine you'll get to know a dozen local men from the local LGBTQ community, comprising representatives from the city's sizeable Jewish, Arab, and post-Soviet cohorts, presented through a combination of intimate photography and honest storytelling.

Each of the participants was shot in their city's streets and many too were photographed in their own homes, dressed in their own style and sometimes not dressed at all. Each also wrote their own text, printed here in Arabic, Hebrew or Russian (all followed by English translations, where applicable). Topics range from tales of love and loss, of seeking self-acceptance, of searching for a better and freer life, of ‘sexcapades', and of what life is like for a queer person living in this place.

‘Elska Haifa’ features twelve chapters, dedicated to the following local participants: George N, Semion K, Mohammad R, Boris L, Uri K, Yehonathan B Y, Guy L, Dia H, Eyal R, Dotan M, Alex P, Amir S.

We also recommend ordering the companion zine ‘Elska Ekstra Haifa’, available separately or as part of the ‘Bundle’, to get more exclusive content. This includes several more participants for whom there wasn't room in the main mag plus outtakes of some of our favourite Haifa boys. Also included is a guest submission by the Dutch artist Rik Besselink.
